MIDAS Heritage Compliance Profile
A compliance profile can help individual dataset managers assess how well their data conforms compared to other information systems, best practice and national standards. MIDAS Heritage has a compliance profile that recommends the minimum amount of information that should be recorded for any type of heritage asset, be it a monument, artefact or a submerged landscape or garden. To be fully MIDAS Heritage compliant also means that the data has been correctly indexed using the national standard controlled terminologies, where appropriate.
The compliance profile is a useful benchmark to guide data enhancement projects.
The units of information are either mandatory or optional, but note that the inclusion of some Information Groups requires that others are also used. Please see the introductory section of the downloadable MIDAS Heritage standard.
